Abstract

High performance and multifunctional are the two main emphases in the study of polymer damping materials. This paper reviews the latest research progress in polymer damping materials from the aspect of novel structural design of polymer networks and microstructure, including gradient structures, dynamic supramolecular networks, dangling chains based networks and low density porous structures. Meanwhile, the functionalization of polymer damping materials is also summarized, such as self-healing, shape-memory and recyclability. Furthermore, the development trends and future challenges in this field are discussed.
