Abstract

AbstractA new mutual impedance, the receiving mutual impedance, between two printed dipole antennas was rigorously determined by experimental measurements. The variations of the receiving mutual impedance with antenna separation and with frequency were obtained. The receiving mutual impedance obtained differs significantly from the conventional mutual impedance, which was shown to be not suitable to indicate the mutual coupling effect in receiving arrays. Results are useful for printed dipole array design. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 49: 892–896, 2007; Published online in Wiley InterScience (www.interscience.wiley.com).
