Abstract

A receding horizon tracking control (RHTC) scheme for input and tracking-error constrained linear continuous time-varying systems is proposed. The control scheme is based on the minimisation of a finite horizon cost function with finite terminal weighting matrices. The proposed RHTC scheme is discussed in terms of the asymptotic property, feasibility and closed-loop stability. The implementation of the proposed RHTC scheme via linear matrix inequality optimisation is also discussed. Through simulation examples it is shown that the resulting RHTC can be an appropriate tracking controller for constrained linear continuous time-varying systems.
