Recanalization of chronic coronary artery occlusions using laser followed by balloon angioplasty

Abstract

In summary, this observational study shows that combined laser and balloon angioplasty of chronic coronary artery occlusions is feasible and safe, with an acute procedure result of 89%, which is, however, not maintained over the long term. It must be established if adjunctive stent placement achieves improved long-term clinical outcome.
