Rebuttal to "Plenty of black money: Netnography of illegal recreational underwater fishing in southern Spain" Maya-Jariego et al., Marine Policy 126 (2021).

Abstract

We have found some inconsistencies in the methodology and in the conclusions used in the article, which is presented based on illegal underwater fishing. In the following rebuttal, we describe the flaws and the irregularities with the aim that these conclusions should be considered with caution if they are to be used for the management of recreational underwater fisheries.
