Rearrangement of the siloxane skeleton in Cu–Na-containing phenylsiloxanes

Abstract

The conversion of ‘sandwich’-like metalophenylsiloxane [PhSiO 2 ] 6 Cu 4 Na 4 [PhSiO 2 ] 6 to ‘horse saddle’-like [PhSiO 2 ] 12 Cu 4 Na 4 was settled; this is the first example of chemical transformation of cage-like metalorganosiloxanes that occurs with rearrangement of Si–O–Si skeleton bonds and with the retaining of the cluster Cu 4 Na 4 .
