Abstract
Laspeyresia pomonella (L.) were reared on a soya, starch, wheat germ diet that contained no agar, had good moisture retention, was mostly free of fungal growths, and was cheaply prepared. Larval acceptance was exceptionally good (90%), and the moths were larger than those grown on apples. Also, production was 2-3 times better than on the standard agar-base diet and equal to that obtained with apples.
