Abstract

‘Spatial’ pressure-area curves are required to determine design loads on a local structure, such as plates and frames in ice load condition. However, plotting a practical ‘spatial’ pressure-area curve is difficult due to the sensitivity of frequency and resolution of data acquisition. In this study, spatial pressure-area curve plotting was attempted using high-precision pressure measurement film with stepped crushing method. Additionally, creation of a pressure distribution map at specific time steps was facilitated by stacking different ranges of pressure measurement film.
