Abstract

Agenesis of a mandibular incisor, besides causing an esthetic problem, can generate undesirable teeth inclinations, lower midline deviation and increased overjet and overbite, in addition to a Bolton discrepancy. The objective of this paper is to present an interdisciplinary treatment approach performed in a young male patient with a mandibular left central incisor agenesis. The opening of small spaces between mandibular incisors was performed with coil springs. Space distribution for reshaping mandibular incisors with composite upturned the Bolton discrepancy and provided aesthetic and functional results with adequate overjet and overbite.
