Abstract

The influence of the site and timing of background activity upon the left-ventricular ejection fraction was assessed in 14 normal subjects and 28 patients with previous myocardial infarction who underwent supine, resting gated equilibrium blood pool scintigraphy. Four paracardiac sites were subjected to quantitative analysis of background activity utilizing the background count density ratio (the ratio of the background count density at end diastole to the count density in the left-ventricular end-diastolic region of interest)
