Abstract
A variety of new technologies are converging in car infotainment systems. The associated increase in system complexity presents a significant challenge to both security and reliability. To address this challenge, car infotainment systems need an operating system (OS) that can provide extreme fault tolerance while making optimal use of limited CPU and memory resources. This article by QNX Software Systems presents the modular operating system QNX Neutrino RTOS that can be adjusted to today's complex requirements.
