Abstract

A real-time simulation model for a 440t/h circulating fluidized bed (CFB) is presented. The dynamic mathematical model has been developed to predict the static and dynamic characters of the CFB boiler, on the basis of principle and experience equations. In these dynamic equations, the chemical reaction and heat transfer are taken into account specially. The simulation model is programmed in modular modeling method. In order to verify the model, the overall model developed has been used to study the operating characteristics of a CFB boiler comparing with the actual operation data, including the static characteristics under design condition and also the dynamic characteristics with disturbances of operation parameters. Simulating results show that the model is capable of predicting the complete performance of the combustion system, and the runtime is short enough to be used in real-time simulation.
