Abstract
Background: The A-train is a pattern known from visual analysis of the intraoperative facial nerve EMG, which is pathognomonic for postoperative paresis of the facial nerve after surgery for acoustic neuroma. It is a high-frequency, rhythmic, and regular pattern, which is to be detected automatically and in real-time by the technique presented.
