Abstract
The limiting relations are given between the transmission capability of the ring chamber, the injection energy, and the permissible injection current of a strong focusing proton synchrotron. The limitations are determined for the peak current of the accelerated beam in a linear ion accelerator with strong magnetic focusing. Consideration is given to the possibility of realizing the maximum injection currents in a proton synchrotron by using a strong focusing linear accelerator as injector.
