Abstract
In this paper, the transmission-line (TL) metamaterials (MTMs) are used to implement Mu-Near-Zero (MNZ) medium with one component of the permeability tensor approaching zero. The tensor TL unit cells are utilized to realize MNZ media with anisotropic medium parameters, whereas the background medium is composed by elements with isotropic medium parameters. We investigate the properties of the inhomogeneous and anisotropic MNZ metamaterials in Cartesian and cylindrical coordinate system. The simulation results show good agreement with the theoretical analysis, showing great potentials for TL metamaterials to implement novel transformation optics (TO) devices.
