Abstract

DFIG is the most common rotatory machine which is used on the grid connected wind energy conversion system for the fulfilment of the system requirement such as grid stability, fault ride through (FRT), power quality improvement, and grid synchronization and power control etc. Though the requirements are not fulfilled directly by the machine rather the control strategy is used in both the stator as well as rotor side along with converters to fulfil the requirements stated above. In this paper the performance of the DFIG system is analysed under the symmetrical grid fault and the theoretical results are obtained from the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment and the proposed work is validated experimentally using RT-LAB.
