Abstract

The protection of light mass combat vehicles from kinetic ammunition is formed as a complex task of determining the patterns of influence of design factors, characteristics of damage means and conditions of combat use on the ability to withstand small arms and low caliber automatic guns. Parameterized armored hulls models of light mass armored vehicles, which are located on the territory, which is also parameterized, has been developed. The weapon caliber and the type of ammunition are also taken into account as parameters that interact with armored hull elements. On this basis, the construction of three-dimensional tactical diagrams of armor-resistant is built. Characteristic influences of various parameters are determined on zone’s shape and size, from which the damage of light mass combat vehicles is possible. This gives an opportunity to substantiate the design parameters of the protective elements of these machines by the criterion of protection against the action of kinetic ammunition. In addition, the basis has created for the development of tactical techniques in order to minimize the likelihood of their destruction, taking into account the conditions of combat operations, including terrain.
