Abstract

Five different types of optical glasses (BK-1, BK-7, SF-5, SF-10, SF-11) have been invoked in the current research to envisage the antireflection elements using triangular based photonic crystal structure. The principle of realization of said application is assessed through the bandgap analysis of proposed triangular photonic crystal structure at seven different signals of visible spectrum pertaining to all five types of glasses. The simulation output which is obtained using plane wave mathematics explores that at particular values of the diameter of air holes and lattice spacing of structure, both BK and SF glass material based PCs can be suitable candidates for antireflection elements.
