Abstract

To produce more electrical energy with the same PV module, the output power of the PV module can be increased by increasing the solar radiation incident on the PV module, because the amount of electricity obtained from PV systems is directly proportional to the intensity of solar radiation projected onto the surface of the solar module. Implementing a solar concentration system can be a good solution to increase the efficiency of the PV module. This study examines the effectiveness of using a movable parabolic reflector in a window containing a photovoltaic array with a heat exchanger containing water circulating in a pipeline, to obtain a photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) module. The results demonstrate that using a movable parabolic reflector with a cooling system to absorb excess heat in a building window could increase and improve the performance of the photovoltaic array and enable optimal use of solar panels with more energy produced.
