Abstract

This research addresses a new approach for rendering colored light shafts using light texture of virtual environments in real time. Typically, most of the techniques have focused on tackling the artifact and aliasing of light shafts that arising because the sampling, however disregard of color effect to achieve the realism. This approach adopts ray marching using virtual planes of texture to compute light scattering along the view rays. The pixel shader is exploited the interaction between a light and the participating media by sampling of texture to display effects on screen space. The experiments results refer to achieve better appearance of colored light shafts phenomenon in high frame rates. This approach produces compelling light shafts and suitable can be used in interactive applications.
