Abstract

The real-time vehicle dispatching is initiated by irregular real-time inflow demands and processed by the integrated logistics information system (ILIS), which consists of network based vehicle dispatching module, data transferring module, spatial database, graphical user interface, and electronic data interchange network connected to external data source. The analysis platform is the GIS software, Arc/lnfo, which provides tools and working environment for the ILIS. The iterative heuristic algorithm for the ‘capacitated clustering problem’ is chosen to strengthen the GIS embedded network functions to enhance vehicle dispatching for the study.
