Abstract

This work PID real time controller has been realized in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment and implemented practically to the control speed dc motor using Data Acquirement card, and monitored of the control system done by using LABVIEW. The PID controller has been constructed is used to speed control of separately excited dc motor which rotating a dc generator coupled together. The controller effect has a control of the motor on both voltage and current armature to reject electrical load effect that has been applied on the generator. The controlled dc motor, besides to DAQ card (NI PCI-6251) which interfacing between (PC) and out world that represent the isolated circuit, driver circuit (buck convertor), DC current sensor, Tacho-Generator (T.G) and conditioning circuits. The results show that PID controller is best and efficient than conventional controller in view of time domain response and rejection of load applied on motor. Good response of the real time PID control system for the motor when the reference speed is varied range (100-1500) rpm with no load applying to the dc motor acting on dc generator.
