Abstract

During 1981 the Tandem Accelerator Laboratory of the Niels Bohr Institute is updating its local computer system for data acquisition and data analysis. The system will consist of a VAX 11/780 for operator interaction and off line analysis and two Nord 10/100 computers for real time operations. The experiments are interfaced via a camac system with autonomous control. The complexity of the monitors in the real time computers is reduced by restricting their use to only one user and pure real time programs. As a result it has been possible to construct a simplified multiprogramming monitor which will be described along with a description of the overall configuration of the new system.
