Abstract

A new technique of real-time binary image subtraction is demonstrated as an application of XOR optical logic. Based on the modulation of polarization, two electrooptical devices are arranged in tandem to perform XOR and XNOR optical logic operations. Experimental results of binary image subtraction using two liquid crystal TVs are presented.
