Abstract

The paper describes the real-time extension of a well-known higher level microcomputer system-programming language as a new member of this language family, PLZ/RTC (Real-Time Control). Because of the two-phase compilation of the base language PLZ/SYS, portability from 8 bit to 16 bit or even 32 bit machines by intermediate to machine code translation is given. The language extensions in the new declaration class “task” for processes and events are filtered out and translated into the basic language by a precompiler with simultaneous absorption of the information needed for automatic generation of a kernel, adapted to the problem.
