Abstract

Medical data acquisition utilizing laser sources meets growing demand in ophthalmology, dentistry, orthopaedics, endoscopic inspections and other fields. Simple, cheap and reliable systems operating in real or quasi-real time and friendly to medical environment are needed now. Holography and holographic interferometry in spite of their unique features are rather rarely used in medical practice due to relative complexity, costs, lengthy multi-stage procedures, need of dark rooms and vibration insulation. But most of these drawbacks can be easily avoided.
