Abstract
On May 5, 1997, the order of the Ministry of Health of Russia No. 131 «On the Introduction of Clinical Pharmacology Major» entered into force. For a short period, clinical pharmacology has become not only an academic discipline and a scientific major, but one of the most sought-after applied areas. The World Health Organization has defined the main goal of clinical pharmacology as a practical major: «Improving patients’ health by increasing safe and effective use of medications». The clinical pharmacology service of the dispensary fully participates and plays one of the main roles in the process of ensuring the drug safety of a medical organization.
