Abstract

The article examines how online fantasy games enable entrepreneurs in developing countries to earn real cash from imaginary currency. The concept, which is known as gold farming, involves the selling of virtual currency for actual currency. An example is given of the fantasy game World of Witchcraft in which a player earns virtual money. The virtual money is then sold for a fee to other players.
