Abstract

Special techniques are developed to evaluate numerically the inverse Fourier transform representing the transient response of a perfectly conducting cylinder excited by a magnetic line source. Numerical results compare well with those obtained by the wavefront asymptotic approximation at early times and by the singularity expansion method at late times. With appropriate modification, these techniques can be applied to evaluate the spectral integrals occurring in the Green's functions for multilayer dielectric cylinders.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
