Abstract

NiCo2O4 electrodes prepared with different reagents by a facile hydrothermal method and characterized by XRD, XPS, SEM and TEM analysis. The urchin flower like nanostructure of NiCo2O4 electrode is prepared with hexamethylenetetramine and urea as reagents which exhibit excellent electrochemical performance, a high specific capacitance of 1839.26 Fg−1 at current density of 0.9 Ag−1, with high energy density of 40.13 Wh kg−1 at the power density of 240 W kg−1 and capacitance retention of 87.13% after 2500 cycles.
