Abstract

Abstract The results of the research into the reagent method of liquid chrome-containing wastes decontamination at the developed trial-experimental installation are observed. The construction of double-stage reactor–reducer with active charging is presented. The perceptiveness of using iron (II) oxide and metal turnings for the utilization of chrome-containing waste with the obtaining of the sediment with certain structure and properties is demonstrated. The technological peculiarities of the iron turnings application as the reducing agent are considered. The influence of the active charging specific area and that of the temperature on the rate and completeness of the hexavalent chromium reduction reaction is defined. The installation was used at real industrial environment and its efficiency was proved.
