Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine reading perceptions of rural elderly adults. The revised Survey of Elderly Reading Attitudes (SERA) inventory was used to collect data from 40 noninstitutionalized and SO institutionalized adults. Data were grouped by SERA's four categories and demographic factors. The Tukey method, pairwise t test, and mean scores were used to analyze the data. Significant differences were found among some of the groups. Overall, though, the findings showed no significant differences among most groupings of subjects in this study.
