Abstract

Abstract Reactions of [Cp*Ir{NSC(NR2)S}] (Cp* = η5-C5Me5, R = Me or Et,) with alkyl halides (MeI or BnBr) in acetonitrile gave the N-alkylated products, [Cp*Ir{R′NSC(NR2)S}]+ (R′ = Me or Bn). These complexes readily reacted with PPh3 to give adducts. In contrast, [Cp*Ir{SN=C(NR2)S}] formed their PPh3 adducts, which gave thermally stable S-alkylated products by reactions with alkyl halides.
