Abstract

This paper is intended to compensate the reactive power drawn from the mains during load changes. This is done by using modified AVR [Automatic Voltage Regulator]. In this proposed paper, a hybrid system consisting of wind induction generator and diesel synchronous generator is analyzed for 3 phase RLC loads and new modified AVR is proposed. This AVR is fed with two control parameters, one is terminal load voltage and other one is required reactive power component of induction generator. The mathematical model of proposed system is developed and simulated using MATLAB. The simu lated results are verified with experimental setup. An experiment has also been conducted for this proposed model and the results a re also presented with compensation and without compensation.
