Abstract

Reactive power control is sometimes the best way to enhance power quality and voltage stability. In the first part of chapter we describe the reactive power flow impact in the system starting from the definitions of power components and presentation of the electrical equipment that produces or absorbs the reactive power. Then we present the reactive power control and the relations between voltage stability and reactive power. The third part of chapter contains reactive power control methods for voltage stability. In the end of chapter we present the management of voltage control based on case studies.
