Abstract

Reactive lymphoid hyperplasia (RLH) of the liver, also known as pseudolymphoma, is a rare benign entity usually discovered in radiological work-up resembling a malignant neoplasia. RLH has been associated with autoimmune diseases, chronic liver disease, and primary biliary cirrhosis. At microscopy, RLH is characterized by a nodular proliferation of mature-appearing lymphocytes without atypias and lymphoid follicles. Surgical excision is suggested both for diagnosis and treatment of liver RLH, since it is difficult to diagnose low grade lymphomas in liver biopsy [1].
