Abstract

In a study of the system /sup 16/O+/sup 48/Ca at E/sub lab/(/sup 16/O) = 158.2 MeV, we have measured elastic, inelastic, and single-nucleon transfer cross sections to resolved final states, and the non-fusion reaction cross section. The measured cross sections to resolved states generally agree with the predicted magnitudes and angular distributions from exact finite-range distorted-wave Born approximation calculations. The total non-fusion reaction cross section, sigma/sub NF/, is measured to be 0.66/sub -0.07//sup +0.27/ b. These results are compared with other studies made at different bombarding energies, and for other systems.
