Abstract

The reactions between UF5 and either Me 3SiCl or UCl 5 in anhydrous acetonitrile yield soluble uranium (V) chloridefluorides. The crystalline complexes UF 5·2tppo and UCl 2F 3·2tppo are obtained in the presence of an excess of triphenylphosphine oxide (tppo).
