Abstract
Reaction of trans-HM(PEt 3) 2 (CCC 6H 5) (M Pt, Pd) with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate has given rans-{(CH 3O 2C)HCC(CO 2CH 3)}M(PEt 3) 2 (CCC 6H 5). It is suggested that oligomerization of a terminal acetylene proceeds through an alkynylalkenyl derivative.
