Abstract

Abstract Carbon dioxide reacts with RuH2(PPh3)4 to give its insertion product, hydridoformatotris(triphenylphosphine)ruthenium(II). The reversibility of the CO2 insertion has been demonstrated. Insertion products of carbon disulfide and adducts of sulfur dioxide with ruthenium also have been obtained by the reactions of carbon disulfide and sulfur dioxide with various ruthenium dihydride complexes, RuH2L4 (L=PPh3, PPh2H, PPh2Me, PPhMe2). These compounds were characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and chemical reactions.
