Abstract
A facile entry to the reactive enamines (3), used primarily for synthesis of heterocyclics, starts from acyl chlorides (1) and phosgeniminium chloride (2). On reaction with (2), diphenylacetyl chloride or diphenyketene gives the novel azetidinone (4).
