Abstract
Reaction soldering methods were used for making the lavishly decorated Alemannic disc fibula (‘Scheibenfibel’) of Lauchheim, to provide a beautiful example of very early goldsmith’s work in ‘cloisonné’ and ‘filigree’. The techniques used show superb mastery of the technology of reaction soldering for gold alloys.
