1. The reaction of diphenylphosphine with symmetrical olefin oxides proceeds with the formation ofβ-hydroxyalkyldiphenylphosphine oxides. 2. The reaction of secondary phosphines with propylene oxide leads toα-hydroxyisopropylphosphine oxides.
