Abstract

1. The reaction of oxygen with surface-propylene complexes at room temperature on a 0.1% CoO-MgO sample leads to the formation of mild oxidation products with their escape into space. 2. The effect of a discrete, “jumplike” liberation of the reaction product was detected in the case of the 0.1% CoO-MgO sample, with a simultaneous sharp increase in the oxygen absorption. This effect is practically absent for the 12% CoO-MgO. 3. A possible mechanism was proposed for the reaction of oxygen with surface-propylene complexes.
