Abstract

The reaction of niobium pentachloride with Cd(GeEt3)2 (1 ∶ 1) in THFin vacuo has been studied. The reaction affords Et3GeNbCl4 · THF, which was characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. To refine the composition of the compound, the thermolysis of Et3GeNbCl4 · THF at 85 and 180 °C was studied.
