Abstract

A reaction of Me 3Al with 2,2′-methylene- p-chloro-bisphenol in Et 2O yielded Me 5Al 3[OC 6H 3(Cl)CH 2C 6H 3(Cl)O] 2 ( 1). Compound 1 reacted with 2,2′-di(hydroxymethyl)biphenyl to form Me 3Al 3[OC 6H 3(Cl)CH 2C 6H 3(Cl)O](OCH 2C 12H 8CH 2O) 2 ( 2) bearing two kinds of diolate ligands. Compound 2 was structurally characterised.
