Abstract
1. 3-Ketoalkyl dialkyl phosphites were obtained by the reaction ofβ-keto alcohols with dialkyl chlorophosphites in the presence of a base. 2. A study was made of the reaction of 3-ketoalkyl dialkyl phosphites with sulfur and with nitrogen oxides. 3. Diethyl 3-ketobutyl phosphite was reacted with chloral and dibutyl 3-ketobutyl phosphite was reacted with acetyl chloride.
