Abstract
1. The alkaline-earth metal bis(tetraethyl)alanates metalateα-acetylenic hydrocarbons to give mixed acetylide complexes. 2. Phenylacetylene replaces six of the eight ethyl groups in the alkaline-earth metal bis(tetraethyl)alanates, while the alkylacetylenes replace only four groups. 3. A number of mixed calcium, strontium, and barium acetylide complexes was obtained and characterized.
