Abstract The reaction of 1,2-epoxyalkylsilanes with azidotrimethylsilane or sodium azide provided 1-azido-2-hydroxyalkylsilanes stereoselectively, one of which was successfully converted into a 2-aza-1,3-diene by a three-step reaction sequence.
