Abstract

The roles of the one‐step and the sequential (two‐step) transfer process in the 208Pb(p,t)206Pb reaction leading to the unnatural parity state 3+(Ex=1.34 Mev) were investigated. The exact evaluations of both processes were carried out employing the realistic deuteron and triton wave functions and the realistic interaction which causes the transfers of each step. The sequential transfer process is dominant in this reaction and the data of analyzing power comfirm this fact.
